Chief, Defense & Space Division
Dr. Alicia Sudol is Chief of the Defense and Space Division at the Aerospace Systems Design Laboratory at Georgia Tech. Her primary areas of research include military systems of systems (SoS), operations analysis, and the application of advanced design methods to develop innovative tools and techniques for the assessment of SoS concepts. She is a member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and a member of AIAA’s Systems Engineering Technical Committee. She also sits on the Board of Directors the Military Operations Research Society.

- Project overview: Exploring the capacity of modeling campiagn-level objectives in AFSIM and development of enhanced system of systems analysis techniques to enable rapid capability-based tradeoffs at the campaign or enterprise-level.
Electromagnetic Spectrum Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (Sponsor: USSTRATCOM)

- Project overview: Develop a methodology to evaluate the impacts of contested electromagnetic spectrum operations at the campaign-level.
Joint All Domain Operations (Sponsor: Lockheed Martin)

- Project overview: Development of a methodology to identify JADO requirements and assess the dependency and integration of legacy systems and new technologies in alternative JADO architectures.

- Project overview: Formulation of a light-weight, parametric analysis framework to assess the effectiveness of strategic airlift mobility vehicles.

- Project overview: Development of an intelligent battle manager using reinforcement learning system to support analysis of advanced air defense systems in AFSIM.
Superconducting Shipboard Power and Energy Architecture Study for Next Generation Surface Combatant (SuPEr Ship Study) (Sponsor: ONR)
- Working in collaboration with the Electric Ship Research and Design Consortium (ESRDC) to quantify the benefits of superconducting systems integration including electrical distribution, propulsion, and energy storage on overal ship synthesis.
